Goldilocks Porridge

Goldilocks porridge is perfect for winter or when you simply just don’t want to get out of bed.

One of the easiest, yummiest and most comforting bowls of oats you will eat and it is full of healing remedies.

Warming spices like cinnamon and black pepper with the anti-inflammatory and pain relieving power of ginger and turmeric.


Ingredients:

  • 1 can of coconut Milk and 1 can of water - then dilute to your taste

  • Pinch of himalayan pink salt

  • 1⁄2 tsp turmeric powder or finely

  • grated turmeric root

  • 1 cinnamon bark

  • ½ tsp of cinnamon powder

  • 1⁄8 tsp ginger powder

  • Half a pinch of fine black pepper

  • 1 tsp ghee (optional)

  • 1 tsp of cardamoms

  • 2 x star anise

  • 1 tbs chia seeds

Directions:

Bring the coconut and water and salt to a low simmer. Add the spices and optional ghee / coconut oil. Keep mixing until the porridge is thickened but not “sticky thick” (or whatever consistency you like). Pour into a bowl.

Add a little sweetener if you like (coconut sugar or maple syrup are great). Top with fresh blueberries and almonds and seeds, Enjoy!

Move aside Mr Avocado !

This January I dare you to give up the most over eaten breakfast ingredient of the 21st century! It has had its day. Hospitals have even reported a rise in what they coined 'Avocado Hand' when admissions of severed tendons due to the dangerous avocado increased. Ten years ago it would have been considered very middle class to report the reason you couldn't write was because you severed a tendon whislt trying to cut open this dangerous fruit. Now its a run of the mill injury. So to avoid this potential problem try something new for breakfast.

How to make this  breakfast

Toast a piece of rye bread 

spread with some sweet mustard

Open a tin of sardines and with a folk spread them onto the rye toast

Roughly chop watercress and lie on top of the sardines

Chop 3 cherry tomatoes 

Eat, slowly without checking instagram of emails or facebook!
